I am new to Basecamp and my Garmin GPSMAP64st. I just got back from my 100 mile Hike and was excited to see how I could view my hiking data. The problem I had was that I started the Garmin to track from the parking lot of the hike instead of at the trail head. In my attempt to erase this small portion of the hike, I accidentally erased ? of my total hike. Is there someway I can recover the parts I deleted. Very desperate to get the data back. Thanks for any help you can give.
Thanks for your help Don, I seem to have the data back in Basecamp now (?!?). I don't know if it is all on my garmin as I have someone else's trip over layed on the trail and can only see part of my trip. What I need to know now is how to save this data someplace safe, and how to edit and view the existing data in a meaningful way.
I do not have a Mac so this might not help. In BaseCamp under File there is a Backup option. It saves everything. When you click on it you get a new window. Make sure you write down the name of the file BaseCamp is going to use. After doing the Backup then do a search with that file name to find out where it went and make sure you send all future Backup files to that same folder. On my Win7 machine it is > Appdata > Roaming > Garmin > BaseCamp > Backup Files. Under Edit there is an "UnDo" and there should be an UnDo icon up top in the second row for correcting mistakes. To edit a track just double click it. You get a new window where you can change track color, rename it, delete trackpoints, etc.
