Problem with Basecamp and Zumo Sat Nav

Hi All,

First post on here and need some help.

I have a Garmin Zumo 590 motorcycle satnav which is running all the latest updates and maps and works fine. I use Garmin Basecamp on my iMac to plan routes, create waypoints etc for use when I'm out on the bike.

The issue I have is that after tidying up both the Zumo and Basecamp when the Zumo is connected to the computer and registering properly in Basecamp if I click on either the Zumo or the loaded maps in the box at the left of the screen it shows the Zumo to contain a number of waypoints, trips and Active Logs that have been deleted from the unit.

If I right click on any of them and select delete I get a message telling me these have to be deleted on the unit (which I did). If I disconnect the Zumo and look in there they don't exist ...

I've taken the battery out of the Zumo and refitted it, logged out of Basecamp etc but still they appear ...

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
John
  • If BaseCamp is showing them there then they must be there somewhere. Do a search of your Zumo, and SD card if one is installed, to find any .gpx files. Delete any that shouldn't be there.

Also as you're on a Mac is it possible that there is a trash on your Zumo that needs emptying?

Thanks for that - I couldn't see any trash in the Zumo but it did still show some gpx files. Deleting those using the Finder on the Mac seems to have done the trick.

Once again, thanks for the prompt and helpful response.
