Google Maps kml looks great, detail gone in gpx in Basecamp

My post simply disappeared after I clicked Submit New Thread - didn't appear in forum or My Profile/Recent Posts- just gone. Logout/login, no change. (Anyone else have this issue?) So I'm adding it again...

Just checked and I have no idea what you did but it didn't even appear in the queue of posts awaiting moderation. Maybe you either didn't do what you thought you did or it was never sent by your computer.

This relates more to Google My Maps but maybe someone can offer insight...
My USWest Topo 24k in Basecamp 4.6.3 (Mac os10.10.5) doesn't show enough details to make an accurate track, so I made a detailed track in Google My Maps, carefully creating/aligning/adjusting 100's of points, then exported a .kml, converted the .kml to .gpx at https://kml2gpx.com, then imported the .gpx into Basecamp.
Now all the detail is missing - almost 2 miles worth - and there are only 50 pts.
I created a new Google map from the exported .kml and - yep, only 50 pts. That blows.
How to keep Google Map details? Is there some point limit to MyMap .kml export?

I am just guessing here but I suspect that your conversion https://kml2gpx.com is the problem.
Try importing the kml directly with/into BaseCamp (no conversion necessary). I have done that many times and gotten exactly the track I wanted.
Also, I too have lost several posts and have learned to always select everything I have typed, right click and copy before clicking Send. Then when everything disappears I can start again, right click and paste. :o
