City Navigator in BaseCamp?

I have Garmin Edge 820 and bought the City Navigator Europe NT maps. I downloaded the maps to the 820 and when connected to my Mac the maps show up on the device in BaseCamp. What I'd like to do is use the CN maps in BaseCamp without the Edge connected.

How can I copy the CN Europe over to BaseCams so that I can plan my trips without the 820 connected to my Mac?

You can either copy the map file to a sd card or usb stick, and use that instead of your Edge, or set up a virtual removable drive and copy the files to that. See here for more detail

Note whichever method you use the files need to be in a folder named Garmin
