Compressing the Basecamp Library database

Hi all,

One of my libraries was getting a bit big and running very slow, so I exported most of the old data to archive it and it is now running better, however I noticed that the size of the database which was 195MB, is still the same size (has not shrunk), I assume like most databases it needs to be compressed, is there any way of doing this?

This is what I did:

I created a new library called xxtemp and when it asked me if I wanted to copy the contents I said yes.

I then deleted library xx and created a new library xx from xxtemp. basically ending up with the same name database with the same contents but the size got reduced to almost nothing and it is now performing good again.

Same is happening to me,.....I've arase half of the data and practically is the same space...
