Can Basecamp do what I want?

I have muddled through the Basecamp help files but I'm not sure if what I'm trying to do is possible.

I have a Garmin eTrex20 with CityNavigator installed, and the lastest BaseCamp for mac.

What I am hoping to be able to do is plan a route in BaseCamp and then send that route to the eTrex so that the eTrex will give me turn by turn directions while also following the route that I put in rather than recalculate the route.

I'm not familiar with the eTrex, but as long as it can accept pre-planned routes, it can be made to do what you want using BC. I say "made to do" because depending on how your navigation preferences are set, the GPS may change the route, so test it first and then add waypoints as necessary to keep it on your desired route.

It will but you do understand you won't get spoken directions?

OK, thanks for that. I just remember that some time in the past maybe 5 years ago, that the older eTrex would *always* reroute. And that this was not a function of the unit but the mapping software. I will now attempt to work my way through the instructions and get back here if I am unable to work it out.
