Bace Camp route exported to BMW Navi is completely different

Hi,

I created a route with Base Camp by defining 15 waypoints. Then I exported this route to my BMW Motorrad Navigator V where I need it. It shows up there (and reimports to Base Camp) ridicuously changed. In the attached PNG you can see the correct reoute in thin pink and the corrupted route in bold pink. They don't have much in common, execpt perhaps for the waypoints. Route option is "curvy" on both...

Any ideas someone?

Do you have the same map installed in BaseCamp and your device? I've seen similar screen shots when maps don't match, particularly those straight lines in places that indicate the points there aren't actually on a routeable part of the map.

Also did you allow your device to recalculate the route?

No I didnt, because these was a route on the device.

I avoided the problem by creating a new route with the old waypoints on the BMV navi :mad:

Glad it's resolved although you didn't answer my question, was the same map on your device as in BaseCamp?

The screenshot you posted is typical of when the maps don't match.

In fact I don't know. Both Base Camp and the BMW navi came with maps which I didn't change (except perhapt for update with Garmin Express)...

Well that's almost certainly the issue then. When you next update your maps install the same to both your device and BaseCamp.

Yes, although the sd card issue shouldn't prevent you installing the map for BaseCamp to use.

Yes, I could install "City Navigator NTU Europe 2017.2 into BaseCamp perfectly well.

By playing around with BaseCamp and the device I found out that there is a (perhaps old) Map named "Worlwide Autoroute Europe DEM Basemap, NR" on the device's internal memory in .System, not on the expansion card. Dou you think I could remove it? (If yes: Is there a feature in the menu of the device, or do I have to use MacOS command line?) There would be plenty of space then for the new map ...

That map is the Digital Elevation Model map that provides you with terrain contours, unique to certain devices including yours. If you don't want terrain data you can remove it.
