Hi all,
I have been lingering on this forum for a while and read all the posts which helped me with questions I had which we all seem to share such as forcing the GPS to a route planned on basecamp and many other questions.
Thanks to all!
Until today, I was not able to post or reply but that issue seems to have been sorted now.
I have (between us in my family) four different GPS's, a 590LM (with Australia maps and also loaded with topo maps), two 57LM also loaded with Oztopo maps and one 58LM with Europe maps.
I am planning a European tour (combination of motorhome and motorbike tour) and I will be using the 58LM for that.
Some of the challenges I encountered have been forcing the 58LM to follow motorcycle routes because it does not have the motorcycle routing option like the 590LM but I think that adding waypoints will achieve it.
I also found that shaping points are not always followed by the GPS, I had issues where if I miss a waypoint it wants to do a U turn and go back, so I starting converting them to shaping points, but then I found that the GPS will then ignore the shaping points and create its whole new route (if it needs to recalculate). On the 58 you cannot choose manual recalculation as it is not part of the settings.
My question is: what is a smart list and how do I use it? what is it used for?
Thanks
