Hi all, I'm having an issue with a route not completely showing up on my Gpsmap64s. I created the route using GAIAgps online and downloaded the gpx file. After loading it in to base camp the complete route shows up but after sending it to my unit only half of it shows on the map. Any clues as to what may be wrong? Thanks for any help.
I do believe that is my problem but how do I solve it? When making the route I only had maybe 7 waypoints. After opening the route in base camp I noticed a bunch of flags or points over the whole route. And also when opening the route on my device the route is littered with flags. How do I make there less points?
Well there might only have been 7 you could see but there would probably have been many more you couldn't.
Depending on how many you are over the 250 you could manually delete some if not too many, or consider splitting it in two. Or use the BaseCamp function to convert it to a track then reduce the track points to a number you choose (in the Win version you right click and select Filter Selected Track but unsure about the mac version). Or having converted it to a track use the track on your device, that can have up to 10,000 points.
Take a look at the Giaiagps gpx file in a text editor and I'll bet you see LOTS of waypoints listed.
To reduce points in a track using BC for Mac, go Preferences --> Advanced and you'll se a box at the bottom of the window where you can specify the number of points you want when converting.
