BaseCamp 4.6.1 is Now Available

The following is a list of changes:

  • Added support for downloading preview imagery for BirdsEye select.
  • Added support for track metadata from FIT files.
  • Added support for importing FIT files.
  • Added support for displaying DEM shading for some cycling map products.
  • Improved map rendering performance.
  • Updated the Czech translation for 'road'.
  • Updated route avoidance settings to be more like PNDs.
  • Fixed an issue with routes created in BaseCamp not displaying lane assist and junction views on Nuvi devices.
  • Fixed an issue with Garmin Adventures transferred from BaseCamp being deleted after the device is disconnected.
  • Fixed an issue with sending Garmin Adventures to device SD cards.
  • Fixed an issue with Geocaches not showing up on Oregon devices as found.
  • Fixed an issue with importing large KMZ files.
  • Fixed an issue with adding duplicate photos when matching photos to track(s).
  • Fixed an issue with canceling route calculations.
  • Fixed an issue with failing to unlock city navigator maps.
  • Fixed an issue with displaying the wrong day number in Trip Planner.
  • Fixed an issue with viewing raster maps.
  • Fixed out of memory crashes related to the undo buffer growing too large.
  • Fixed other various bugs.

    BaseCamp crashing after update

    I installed the latest update 4.6.1 for BaseCamp two days ago and have been having problems with it crashing since. The crashes seem to occur when adding sections to a Route or adding and renaming a new Waypoint.
    Any suggestions of what i can do to prevent the crashes?

    Basecamp Mac 4.61 crashes: View Detailed Data List -> Tracks

    Every time that I use View Detailed Data List in Basecamp Mac 4.61, then select the Tracks tab, the program crashes. None of the other tabs cause the crash. I have a MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 running OS X 10.11.3 (15D21). I don't know if this error was present in previous versions of BaseCamp.

    I am new to the forum. Is this the proper way to report software errors to Garmin? I have searched the Garmin.com web site and the internet for the proper process. I could not find a way to report it.

    A fix for your issue will be in the next maintenance release (4.6.2). I wasn't able to recreate it, but a fair number of people have seen this issue though. I'm hoping we'll be able to release to the public next week.

    In addition to sending in the error reports, reporting these reoccurring Mac BaseCamp problems in this forum is the correct thing to do.

    I was able to reproduce and fix your issue in maintenance release 4.6.2. It'll be out next week hopefully.

    In 4.6.1( Os 10.11.3):
    Select a list in the left column. Underneath appear the Routes, Waypoints, Tracks, .... Top these routes, waypoints. When the cog is selected, then choose "View detailed data list", then the list of tabs appears.
    Click the tab "Tracks" and Basecamp crashing. The other tabs give no problems.

    Crashing when creating routes

    I first reported problems with this update last week and I am continually experiencing crashes at the moment.
    Basecamp is crashing when editing routes. I just tried renaming an active route and it crashed. I have tried adding legs to a route and it crashed.

    I am currently planning routes in Europe using "CN Europe NT 2015.20" maps.

    Export course to GC..

    ..always broken.. there is no progress bar ! and in GC, no course..

    Have you managed to improve graphics performance on the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display as hoped please?

    Other problem is, when recalculate a existing route, you have a completely different route.

    Nick, please try the 4.6.2 version. The web version was just released today and the App Store version will be next week.
