Running a Nuvi 755.

I downloaded base camp version 2.1.2 on my Mac (running 10.9.5) because I found out you can access trip logs and other information. I clicked the [-] icon on a few trips thinking that it would hide it from the map view (so I could see one trip at a time). I think I may have accidentally deleted them permanently (or perhaps not, let me know). I have not unplugged the unit from the computer or shut the program, out of hope that it does a final 'sync' and saves changes before you close the program (if thats the case, I'll 'unsafely' eject the unit to prevent those changes from syncing). I see no undo button or a trash folder to recover those deleted logs. Are those logs still on the unit after I unplug them?

TLDR: Pressed [-] button on bottom left corner on a few trip logs. Not sure if that deletes those logs permanently from the unit or not. If not, are they safely still there, or if not, is there a way to recover them? Quick response is preferred, Don't want to unplug unit until I have an answer.

Attached a screen shot to show what i mean.

Looks like you have your NUVI selected in Basecamp. I don't THINK that you can actually delete anything on a NUVI from Basecamp especially Waypoints or Favorites but don't know about a Track made on the device. But DON'T take my word for it. Wait for someone who knows about NUVIs and deleting track logs.

Did you by any chance import the data into Basecamp? Click on "My Collection" and see if your data is there.

when this is all over you should update to the latest Basecamp, version 4.5.2 It doesn't appear to have that button!
  • That's correct, BC cannot delete data from a nuvi so it should all be there.
