How do you drag in Mac Basecamp when creating a route?

I have a very basic question: how the h-- do you drag places from the map into the new route dialog when creating a route? Every time I try to drag something it asks me if I really want to move the item on the map, so of course I cancel. What magic sequence of key presses does one need to drag? What seems natural to me is to click on the item I want to drag, hold down the moouse button, and drag the item. This apparently is interpreted as a request to move the item on the map. Please help. (N.B. I tried to search the forums for the answer, but kept getting no results and an error message saying my search terms weren't specific enough - so apparently the forum search tool is as hard to use as Basecamp :D Also, if I am planning a loop, my destination is the same as the starting point, but that isn't going to work very well if I specify it as the destination, I suspect. How do I just create a route by putting in waypoints one by one? The new route tool only lets me specify a start and end point. Why??
  • There are a few ways to get an item into your current route. If you click on an item, it will be selected on the left-hand pane. You can drag that item into your route. You can also Control-click (or right click) on the item to get a menu that includes "Add item to your route".

We would like to add the ability to drag items from map into dialogs, but the default action will always be to move them on the map.

Once you specify the start and end points for a route (which can be the same point), the route dialog will show that allows you to drag items into it as specified above.
