Basecamp unable to disconnect GPSmap 64s device

I have just recently purchased a GPSMAP 64S and i am unable to disconnect it from basecamp. The device always immediately reconnects to the MACbook and basecamp. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue ?

Same issue with the Alpha

You may want to contact garmin support on this issue. It doesn't appear to be a BaseCamp issue if the device can't be unmounted by El Capitan.

Try following this advice.
