Spotify CIQ App not working correctly

This thread has been closed. We appreciate the helpful feedback and have used it to put together the content below to help guide through initial setup and answer common troubleshooting questions.

We'll continue to incorporate your feedback and improve our products. If you continue to have issues, please reach out to Product Support for additional help.

  • Thank you for the Feedback. I apologize for the frustrating experience you have had with signing in. We are aware of the issue with the error message "There was a problem getting you signed in" when trying to sign into Spotify and we are actively working on a solution.

For the time being, a workaround is to tap "Cancel" and then open Spotify on the watch, after that you should be able to access music through the watch.

    Hello,

    I've answered the questions below:

    • What is happening? (e.g. failing during setup, sync failure, playback failure, etc.)      I am having a wi-fi connection issue only in the Spotify app. I can open the Spotify app, Click 'Add music & podcasts", Click "Playlists", and my current playlists all appear. When I click one of the playlists to add, the watch starts searching for a Wi-Fi network and it says it cannot find a network. I can connect to my home Wi-Fi network from the Home->Sync button. For some reason, it cannot find the network in the Spotify app. In addition, the playlists would sync fine until around June of 2019 I believe. I've tried removing and re-installing the Spotify app which did not work.
    • What kind of phone are you using? iphone XR
    • Android or iOS? iOS
    • What kind of headphones are you using? Beats - they work great. I never have connection issues with the watch.
    • What Garmin Device do you have? Forerunner 645 Music
    • What firmware version do you have on your watch? Unsure. I couldn't find a how-to guide for finding the firmware version.
    • When was the last time Spotify worked correctly? June 2019 (I think)
    • Does the problem only happen with a specific Audio File? I've tried different music playlists, so I don't think so.
    • Are you using a Public Wi-Fi connection? (Using a Wi-Fi Device on a Captive Portal) No. It's my home Wi-Fi network.

Thank you for your help. This has been incredibly frustrating because I bought this watch to play music while I run. I loved it when it worked. Back in July, I saw Garmin forums with other people complaining about the same issue, so I thought that Garmin was aware of the issue and it would have been resolved by now.

This does not work either. Please fix! It seems there will be a lot of returned watches if this isn’t remedied!

Guys i seem to have fixed the issue. Connect your watch up to the garmin app on your PC, add a song from your pc manually to the watch. Then everything suddenly works and you can connect Spotify like it’s supposed to once you disconnect from pc. Give it a try

I cannot get past the sign in for Spotify. I have a premium account; I downloaded to my watch; it asked to sign into Spotify from my account; I do that and I get to a I agree piece and there I go into a vicious loop of error with matters. I have turned the watch and phone off many times. I have a vivoactive3music watch and again a Premium Spotify account. I hit cancel and cancel as one suggestion showed. Nothing nada and I am Very frustrated as it worked on a previous watch and this my third refurbished watch (still in warranty) it does not work and a big part of my purchasing this watch!!!
