Spotify CIQ App not working correctly

  • Please try the following suggestion from our FAQ I Am Having Issues with Spotify on my Garmin Watch:

    I Don't See the Prompt to Sign in to Spotify in Garmin Connect App

    1. Force-close Garmin Connect App on the phone
    2. Restart the watch
    3. Go to Music on the watch
      You should see a message to open Garmin Connect App
    4. Open Garmin Connect App
      Stay on My Day until the message to sign in to Spotify appears
    5. Select Sign In

    After selecting Sign In, you'll be redirected to a Spotify page where you can agree to terms of service and sign in to your Spotify Premium account. If you are redirected to a blank screen with nowhere to sign in, please contact Product Support.

  • Thank you for the feedback, we are sorry for the frustrating experience putting music on your watch. If it's asking you to sign up for Spotify Premium even though you already have, I would suggest double checking that you're using the same log in credentials that you used to sign up for Spotify Premium the try it again. You may also want to double check in your Spotify account that there aren't any issues with your subscription using the following steps: 

    1. Go to open.spotify.com
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Select Profile
    4. Select Account
    5. View Your Plan

    After confirming, you may also want to do the following steps to regenerate the prompt to sign in to Spotify Premium:

Please try the following steps from the FAQ I Am Having Issues with Spotify on my Garmin Watch to regenerate the prompt to sign in. Also, make sure your phone has a good Internet Connection, and if you've been trying with your phone connected to WiFi, try using cellular data instead.

Please try using the following steps to confirm you have a Spotify Premium account and double check to make sure you are signing in with the same log in credentials your Spotify Premium account is setup with. You may also need to do the following steps to regenerate the prompt to sign in to Spotify:

    To check account status:

    1. Go to open.spotify.com
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Select Profile
    4. Select Account
    5. View Your Plan

    If you have a Spotify Premium account it will say Spotify Premium. If not, it will say Spotify Free.

    To sign up for a Spotify Premium account, click Join Premium.

  • Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry for the frustrating experience trying to sync your music. Please confirm that you have an active Spotify Premium account using steps below: 

    To check account status:

    1. Go to open.spotify.com
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Select Profile
    4. Select Account
    5. View Your Plan

    If you have a Spotify Premium account it will say Spotify Premium. If not, it will say Spotify Free.

    Also, use the following suggestions when attempting to Sync:

    • Make sure the watch is connected to a secure WiFi network
    • Charge the watch battery to 100% before attempting to sync
    • Keep the watch connected to a power source while syncing
    • Keep the watch within close proximity to the WiFi router when syncing
    • Limit WiFi usage with other devices on the network when syncing
      Activities like streaming videos and playing online games can limit the bandwidth available to the watch and cause the sync to fail
