VIRB Edit 3.1.0.2 - Buggy as hell...

Apologies if these issues have previously been discussed, but I'm at the end of my tether with this software! The product takes up to 3 mins to load (on a 64Bit Core-i7 PC with 8GB RAM over a 2TB of free disk, Windows 8.1). Then runs the HDD at 100% active, hogs the CPU at between 40 & 100% and that's whilst not even trying to import/edit a video clip? When you try to actually use the software invariably crashes leaving you to close and re-start and repeat the process. Then when you do have some success, the overlays won't match the actual data suggesting crazy or incorrect speeds basically out of sync with the action despite the .FIT file coming from the VIRB Elite? The solution sometimes is to revert to the .FIT file from my Garmin Edge 1000 to correct the problem - but why? Lastly it will not connect to my YouTube account, will always fail to connect after successfully and correctly using my username and password for Google YouTube account.

Are there any alternatives out there anyone can suggest for a Windows PC - OpenShot looks good but Linux :-(

Garmin, when will this software get sorted and its quality match-up to that of the camera, its just not good enough.

    VIRB edit alternative

Dash ware is an alternative and can select the data file so you can use the GPX file instead of the fit file which appears to always corrupt.
FALAGAR has said that Garmin are looking at fixing the VIRB elite fit file problem but I get the impression this has been outstanding some while.
