New layout...

I'm sorry... I gave it a chance but it won't work...I can't get used to the new layout, dual camera support ( if it works in any way) and every strange/new behaviour of the app...Where is the clip position slider previously allowing me to jump quickly to desired position ? Why map disapears when I want to edit a clip? How the hell to use the camera angle if I have my trip recorded with 2 cameras?
Maybe You should put some effort and create a tutorial or manual for people like me, used to the older version which worked like a charm with all its limitations? It've been spending less then an hour creating a movie from 1h20mins race with clipping, combining, sometimes adding a music with versions "before" 3.0. Now I have spent more than 3 hours trying to create another movie and I give up...Matbe I'm too old, maybe I need someone to lead me as a child in the dark but I'm very frustrated now and think I'll have a look at the oyher apps on the market. In my opinion You have ruined the promissing aplication.

    Lukasz,

I am sorry to hear 3.1 isn't working out for you.

There is a way to not lose the map. If you click on top of the thumbnails in the timeline when seeking, the map won't go away. But that's definitely something we'd like to improve.

For seeking you can just hover over the timeline. But it sounds like that doesn't give you what you need. What did you get from the extra slider that the timeline doesn't give you?

For multi-cam there is a requirement that the videos start and stop at the same time (within a few second window). I'll try to get a tutorial out for that.

Please keep the feedback coming. We really are trying to make things easier and better for our users. Sometimes we will mess up. But we are committed to fixing our mistakes.

Good to know you are on the forums and looking into problems.
  • I mentioned it once before, but I dont like the new slider function either. Just seems so disconnected from the video. The old one, for me (and others it would seem) just like the "feel" of the old way. Every video player I have ever seen has always had the slider right below the video with time played and clip length values.

I've installed the new VirbEdit on my laptop, but have still kept the old one on my desktop which I still prefer the layout of it all. I appreciate the effort to continually improve the product, but sometimes there is nothing wrong with the old way, just add the new bits to it and fix what was broken.
