New release (even a beta)?

Hi Devs/Moderators,

Is there any news on an upcoming release to fix any of the "Export video" issues?

My virb edit software (2.92) is useless at present as I am unable to export any of my edited videos.

Waiting patiently...

We are getting dangerously close to releasing VIRB Edit 3.0 to accompany VIRB X/XE. Export improvements are something we've spent a lot of time on, so I hope 3.0 will work better for you.

In the mean-time, please check https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?159788-FAQ-Playback-and-Export-Issues (just in case if you haven't).
  • Hi there,

Many thanks for the update (and the continued development work) :)

  • Falagar, will 3.0 address the issue of GPS tracks not syncing across multiple clips? I have a 3-hour ride I recorded, which was saved on the Virb as several 3GB clips. When I stitch them together in VirbEdit, I have to re-sync the GPS data from my Fenix 3 for every clip. It's a lot of work, but not the end of the world. But what becomes a deal-breaker is that when I close VirbEdit and reopen that project, only the first two GPS tracks remain synced. All the rest of the clips have lost their GPS sync. This has happened with all my multi-clip projects. It means I have to build the project and export it in one shot, since all the GPS data after the first two clips will not be saved for later.

I think we fixed that in 3.0. If we didn't, please let me know, and I'll personally make sure we fix it.

The auto updater doesn't found the 3.0....from where we can get it?
  • It has not been released yet.

Waiting to be proved wrong.... :D

I had the same issue. A long ride with several clips with some pauses. The device was always on so the tracks were complete but only some were joined. I had to downgrade to 2.8 to solve it (and I think I tested it on 2.9.1 and it worked as well). So you got it right at one point...
  • Indy, how did you downgrade to 2.8? I can't find it on the web anywhere.
