I have the basic Virb and have been using Virb Edit to try and sync my Garmin 810 data with the video. When I have longer rides the Virb breaks up the video into 26 minute segments for some reason. When I link them together to make one complete video and then try and add my GPS data, the syncing is way off. I then go into GPS Sync and set both the video and the GPS data to the beginning, but it's still off by quite a bit. I find it extremely difficult to sync to the point I'm about to give up.
The second issue is on both my macbook and my PC, both of which have plenty of memory and speed, the playback is really choppy like it's skipping frames regardless of whether I recorded in fast or economy mode, zoom or wide. Even when I export the video, it's choppy. Especially if I watch in full screen mode.
Once again, I'm disappointed in Garmin's software nothing ever seems to work as promised and I spend countless hours trying to fix their poor quality programming. I suspect others are having the same issues as I am and have possibly found a fix. Would welcome any advice. I've long ago given up on Garmin customer support. Total waste of time and energy.
