Sorry for the inconvenience 57DIBBS, please use the below workaround until this issue has been fixed

When you're ready to export your project without Gauges please perform the following work around:

    1. On the Edit Tab select the Add GPS button
    2. Add any fit or gpx file, it doesn't have to be associated with the clip (if you don't have one you can find one via Google)
    3. Select the Overlays tab
    4. Select the Template called "None"
    5. Select the Edit Tab
    6. Select the Remove button
    7. Export your Video

I created a video with my Virb (so no sensor/GPS data) Virb Edit doesn't give me any options for gauges (that's OK I don't want any).

Please note, you don't have access to gauges if your videos don't have GPS info (gpx or fit). If your VIRB doesn't support gps info (VIRB Basic) you can use a fit file from another device (example: Edge 810).

Video demoing the steps can be found here

Yes, i forget and then spend all that time exporting something, only to realize on review i forgot to add/remove a gps clip...

I wish that instead of adding more features, the next build would just be a refinement and fix of the existing features so the software actually works. Having the software export with sound, without flaws would be awesome :)
  • [SUP][/SUP]Virb Edit 2.9.1 had NO gauges by default which I thought was an excellent feature, only to find it was a bug! Apparently the ability to turn on and off the gauges by default may be a feature in an upcoming release. I hope it is!

Does anyone know where I can get a .gpx or .fit file that will work? I Googled for them and all .gpx files I tried would not work and I could not find a .fit file at all. I'm not having a good time with this software. TIA.
  • Work for what - what are you trying to do??
You need to use your OWN .fit file extracted from your Elite or Garmin GPS device etc so you can sync it in VirbEdit to your video. There is no point in using anyone else's activity for your video as the information just wont make sense.

Read the instructions above, any file will do, as once a file is selected (and not before) you then get the option to select "None".

Try the Edge 810 section of the forum under "corrupt fit file", people are always posting corrupt files and other users re-post the repaired files.

    .

Yeah sorry, I was thinking they were trying to sync their video to their activity - not get rid of the gauges....
