VIRB Edit 2.9.2 can be downloaded at http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

It's a short change history:

  • Restored default template when creating a new video or playing a clip.
  • Fixed export issues caused by running out of memory.

2.9.1 unfortunately had some export/playback issues. This version should fix these, and will hopefully make it much more likely for export to succeed.

It didn't fix anything still can't export
  • I am afraid this update introduced a problem with Graphs and maybe gauges showing progress relative to a whole activity in a video. I had made a video consisting of 16 small videos, of a 48 km bike ride, I set up an elevation graph which showed the clip position within the whole distance. After the upgrade to 2.9.2, the graph now shows elevation data from the start of the activity, but the rightmost data of the graph refers to the end of the particular clip, not the whole movie. In each video the position marker reaches the end of the graph. That is, the scale of the horizontal axis changes with every clip, and only the last video shows the whole ride elevation profile.
  • Hi there,

    I had two projects/videos that wouldn't export with 2.9.1.

I have just upgraded to 2.9.2 and tried again.

One of them exported ok, the other still errors and will not export :(

I have attached my log file of the failed video.

    J.

Does your PC meet the minimum system requirements and is your graphics card driver up to date with the driver from the manufacturer's website?

OK, so I'm sure I'm missing something, but I've tried 3 times now without success.
I created a video with my Virb (so no sensor/GPS data) Virb Edit doesn't give me any options for gauges (that's OK I don't want any).
The file exports fine it's 17 Gb so it takes a while, but when it's finished there are gauges present.
I don't want gauges in the video is this another bug?

Sorry for the inconvenience 57DIBBS, please use the below workaround until this issue has been fixed

When you're ready to export your project without Gauges please perform the following work around:

    1. On the Edit Tab select the Add GPS button
    2. Add any fit or gpx file, it doesn't have to be associated with the clip (if you don't have one you can find one via Google)
    3. Select the Overlays tab
    4. Select the Template called "None"
    5. Select the Edit Tab
    6. Select the Remove button
    7. Export your Video

I created a video with my Virb (so no sensor/GPS data) Virb Edit doesn't give me any options for gauges (that's OK I don't want any).

Please note, you don't have access to gauges if your videos don't have GPS info (gpx or fit). If your VIRB doesn't support gps info (VIRB Basic) you can use a fit file from another device (example: Edge 810).

Video demoing the steps can be found here

I have a quad core with 16 GB of RAM running a nvidia quadro graphics card, I use it for FEA and CFD so I think it can handle it.

Thanks Reyntest I was trying that with data from my 810, but the first export failed and as it takes a few hours each time I've only just got round to trying again.

Please note, you don't have access to gauges if your videos don't have GPS info (gpx or fit). If your VIRB doesn't support gps info (VIRB Basic) you can use a fit file from another device (example: Edge 810).

That's why I typed "Virb", if I'd used one of my two Virb Elites I would have typed "Virb Elite".
  • Updated to 2.9.2 BUT stil unusable since everytime i try to export o share a video the software CRASH; and bear in mind i start from a completely formatted system with all Win Seven x64 Ultimate updated done (driver and Win Update).
Any suggestion in order to use the software?

After finishing some projects with 2.9.1 I just upgraded to 2.9.2. same issue as described by JBADILLA, it introduced an issue with the graphs an other gauges showing not the data of the entire video but resets with each new clip and only showing data of the individual clip, how can I get back to 2.9.1 worked stable and fine for me.
