Overlays without GPS data?

I have a VIRB Elite and a Edge 1000, it works just fine to combine the overlay data from the Edge when I have GPS-data.

But I would like to be able to add data from my Edge when I ride my bike indors (we train on a runners track that is 200 meter per lap)
I have speed sensor, power and heart rate data on my Edge that I would like to have as overlay on the movie but its impossible to add it because of the lack of GPS-data.

Is there any workaround for this or something that will be possible to do in the future?

That would be really nice! Any timeplan for this?

I tried to "trick" it by adding some GPS-data today (started the GPS outside the building and made a small recording, and a small recording after I went outside all at the same exercise as the main one from inside)
When I do this I am able to add the data but, VIRB Edit does ignore the part without GPS-data, thats a shame.
