Hi.
After exporting the clip which I've added GPX and overlay gauges, they are saved on video location on my laptop.
When I go to watch it, it's just a normal clip with no data or overlay

I've redone the whole process three times and it's the same, any ideas ?.

Thanks

but surely that should still work

It should, and for many fit files, it does. I am curious to know why it does not work with yours. Would you mind putting your fit file on drop box and PMing me the link so I can investigate (and hopefully fix) this problem. Alternatively, you can send an email to [email protected] with the file attached.

As to the disappearing gauges, this issue will be fixed in our next release. You can get around the issue now by doing the following: under the gauge tab, click the "Save as new Template" button on the bottom right corner of the app. If the button isn't there click anywhere on your video. Once you have done that, your gauges should show up on your exported video.

57DIBBS, I'd like to take a look at your problematic FIT file as well. Just PM me a link or attach it to an email sent to [email protected]

Thanks Purdington, just a bit more info for you, and hopefully you can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
I've created a short clip using the Virb Elite and exported it to Vimeo successfully.
If I try to replace the GPS data with data from my Edge 810 I click on Replace > Manual Selection > I see "Loading GPS logs" and if I do nothing else, just wait a minute or so Virb Edit will crash.

Just to make sure I understand, after you click replace, you see a screen that looks something like this:

Is VirbEdit detecting your Edge? Like mine, you should see a device icon with "Edget 810" under it.
In my image, you'll notice that VirbEdit found the first fit file on the device, "7/26/2013 7:16:48 AM" in my case. Does VirbEdit detect any of your files, or do you only see the "Loading GPS Logs..." text?
The "Loading GPS Logs..." text indicates that VirbEdit is searching your device for FIT files. Even if you navigate away from this page, this process continues in the background. It sounds like VirbEdit is crashing during this process for some reason.

AndyG72, is this the same issue you are experiencing, or does VirbEdit find your fit files, and crash when you attempt to attach one to your video?

If VirbEdit really is crashing when loading FIT files from your device, I'd like to know why. If you would be willing, could you send me the "Garmin" folder found on your Edge device? Dropbox or [email protected] is fine.

Hi Purdington
Yes that's the screen I see, I see several pages worth of FIT files.
I move all my activities from the 810 memory to the SD card at the end of each month, is Virb Edit searching the SD card as well and giving itself a headache? (Edit: I've proved this isn't the case by taking the memory card out).

Edit: :o I've worked out what I was doing wrong, I see a Folder icon above the Edge 810 icon, I presume these are FIT file from previous video clips on my PC.
I was clicking on Manual Selection and navigating to the file on my 810, in the meantime Virb Edit was searching the top folder until it got tired and needed a little rest.
If I just click on the Edge 810 icon it works a treat.

I must do some housekeeping, I've got far too many useless video clips on the PC.
