Timeline sequence

It seems that VIRB Edit does not always get the imported clips in the correct time sequence when there are lots of clips (about 20 or more).

The clip numbering isn't to blame as sometimes VIRB0065 will appear (correctly) before VIRB0001 from a newer folder. It's really tedious trying to manually re-sort them by opening File Properties to see time stamp and then finding the corresponding clips to insert them between.

The last video I made seemed to be in correct sequence by visually checking the content, but when Exported and played back, the tracklog position jumped back and forth on the tracklog.

Anyone know if I've missed finding the command that will sort the clips into correct time sequence?

I keep experiencing this problem, and have revised my ideas on the issue. I noticed today that my video clips again imported in VE in the wrong order, but when I looked closer I found that VE was actually displaying them in order of the clip time stamp (as shown in "Properties"). On closer inspection, it seems that the first 5 clips all have a time stamp 2 hours later than when they were taken, so I then assumed that it was actually the VIRB Elite camera that was using the wrong time for a while after the camera was switched on. My logic was that I live in Ontario but these last few videos have been taken in AZ which is 2 hours behind Ontario, so it seems the camera is using the Ontario Time Zone until it's GPS gets the correct time zone and updates the time. However, I could see that happening the FIRST time I used it in AZ after being in ON, but why would it keep doing that when it remains in AZ. The 2 hour error may be unrelated to the Time Zone but I find coincidences usually aren't (coincidences).

I posted these questions (in the VIRB Forum earlier today, but now I just looked at the Virb Elite Playback screen and see that the video clip sequence is EXACTLY the order they were taken, and NOT in the order VE imports and displays them.

I'm now wondering if it's a VE problem or a VIRB Elite problem. The VIRB Forum doesn't seem to have any Garmin employees checking that Forum and it doesn't seem to produce many useful responses - like those we get here from FALAGAR.

Could I ask FALAGAR to read my post in the other Forum and see if it could be software, rather than hardware, problem?

Couple of things, if you turn your Virb Elite on, let it settle down outside and then check the dashboard of the camera, do you see the correct time displayed there?
Do you have the Time Zone set under Setup > System > Time/ Date > Time Zone (Automatic)?

Edit, just looked at your other post where you said you had the timezone set to Auto. Still worth checking the time is correct on the camera as you may have a GPS error, but don't know what else to tell you other than that.

I don't think the different time zones are coincidental. I am not positive on where the bug is, but we'll take a look. Thank you for reporting and for providing a very useful hint as to what might be causing this.
