I've seen lots of travel videos online that include an animated map of their journey but I cannot find detailed information on how to create them. I like to film my motorcycle rides and I would like to create videos that use the gpx file to create a map that shows where we are in relation to the video.

I just want the map section and not all the other stuff.
Can this be done in Virb Edit and if not what software do I need? Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to do this? I would most appreciate it!
