Altitude off?

I am just learning my new Virb Elite and I have a couple issues. I am riding a snowmobile on a frozen lake and the Altitude goes up and down a lot, shouldn't be more then 1-2 ft. difference. Is something wrong? I have synced the video, it seems I have to synch every video.

Looks like the altimeter wasn't properly adjusted yet. Sometimes it takes a little while till it gives you reliable data. Turning on the camera and leaving it on for a few minutes without recording might alleviate the issue.

We are also looking into what we can do on the device software side to make altitude less errant.

"A little while" is usually about 40 minutes or more.

Give us a way to calibrate it manually. Otherwise the barometric altimeter is useless. Whatever you're doing now to auto calibrate does not work.

I'm finding that if I switch my Virb on, wait until it's got a good GPS lock, switch it off and switch it back on again the elevation is much closer to my home elevation.
