VIRB Edit, no maps behind an authenticating proxy

As title. Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I've searched and couldn't find anything. VIRB Edit on my work desktop isn't able to access maps, it says "NO INTERNET DETECTED". We do allow access to both Google Maps and Bing Maps, and I'm logged in as a user that has proxy access, but nonetheless there doesn't seem to be a setting to use proxies. Is there a registry value I can add or edit?

Just making it a bit difficult to sync FIT data to video without the maps.

Is VIRB Edit allowed to go onto the internet?
Sometimes only programs known to the firewall (and approoved) are allowed to do that.

We don't have an application layer firewall installed on user desktops, so there should be nothing on the machine itself that prevents it. Express works fine (once I'd fiddled with the service settings to explicitly use my login details), so I'd expect there is nothing preventing Virb Edit from doing the same. Just looks to me like it's not trying to use the proxy settings, many apps that are not designed for an office environment do this. Normally I'd expect something in the settings somewhere to tell it what proxy to use, etc, if it can't pick up the system settings from IE or similar.

(For background I look after our firewalls and Internet filtering / proxies, so it's not like an admin is blocking anything. :) )

For reference OS is Win7 Enterprise 64bit.

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry about the trouble.

We've had issues with proxies before, sounds like we haven't ironed it all out.

Out of curiosity, does uploading to YouTube work?

We'll put this on our (very long) to-do list.

Just checked it and no, YouTube upload not working either. I can grab some Fiddler2 or even Wireshark traces if needed, just let me know.

Thanks for checking and for the offer. At this point, I don't think we need any traces. I think we have a pretty good idea what's going on.
