Oh, my false. I was looking through Google. Wouldn't this be an issue if I find a Windows and work on it?
• The Mac version has traditionally been better than the Windows version so I suggest you look in the Mac area for the answer, or for people who'll understand your situation better, rather than look for a Windows computer, which is what I think you're suggesting.

This is the Mac area: https://forums.garmin.com/forumdisplay.php?425-VIRB-Edit

Hi

Music and text are still jerky through transitions using win7 but lots of good points!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17Y7QyhYMH4
Will we get some more music options soon?
• With version 2.8, On a Windows 8.1 Dell Core i7 8Gb laptop, I am still unable to move or add Gauges in a template. Once I move a Gauge and click anywhere, all the Gauges disappear
If I move the Gauges position while playing the full video option (in a pop up screen) I am apparently able to move Gauges without them disappearing,
when I exit the video playing, the Gauges disappear, but If i select the template I was modifying again, the Gauges are placed as I moved them in the full video view.
I have not been able to get the option to save the modified template as a new template to appear under the template types list.
Previously I was using an older windows 7 Hp Core 2 Duo 4Gb desktop computer to make new templates or modifications in virb edit 2.4, so that I could pass those changes on to the newer machine, and have it only encode the video.
but after installing version 2.8 on the older windows 7 machine, it just shuts down when I try to Edit a video, no error message...
Please can I get any indication if this kind of template modification problems might be targeted in a future version?

JBADILLA, I am very sorry to hear that you are still having trouble with that issue. The trouble for us is that we cannot reproduce it, and that gauges disappearing after moving them doesn't seem to be a wide-spread issue. So we hesitate to spend a lot of time on it, focusing instead of common playback and export issues that many of our users experience.

For your laptop, which exact model is it? And which graphics card does it have? We can try to get a machine like that to reproduce it.

For your older machine, does it meet the minimum requirements?

I have a Dell Inspiron 7537 with Windows 8.1 64 bit, Intel Core i7 4500U 1.80GHz 8Gb dual channel DDR3 RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4400

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15-7537_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf

I recall this other post describing a similar problem, also with a laptop:
https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?105904-VIRB-Edit-2-6-2-is-available&p=367686#post367686

I installed the latest Intel Graphic Drivers as well as any pending Windows Updates, I also checked running in Compatibility mode with Windows 8 and Windows 7, but the behavior is the same.
Even in full video playing mode where I am able to move Gauges around without them disappearing, the option to save changes to the template is never shown.
• Checking the older machine, I believe it meets all the minimum requirements, except for the graphics card, which is an Asus EAH5450 , with an ATI Radeon HD5450 GPU, (I use dual monitors) I am not sure how far behind it is from the mentioned AMD Radeon 6570... if I go back to version 2.4 everything works in working with templates. In version 2.8 the program just shuts down if I click on edit video Gear, The expected screen with the video pane, map pane , etc is never opened.

JBADILLA, can you send an email to [email protected] with your forum username and quick description of the issue? I will have an engineer follow up with you on this. We might have to send you a test build to gather some more information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, we will try very hard to get it fixed.
• Thank you very much for your help, I have sent an email with all the details as well as a video screen capture link showing the issue.

Hi- I love my new Virb- but I have most of my music in m4A format (like a lot of iTunes users I guess) so my choice of music to use in my edits is really limited- will I be able to import these filetypes at any point? Apologies if I have asked a question that is already mentioned in another forum...
