Playback issues after edit

Hi all

Anyone able to advise?

I've recently purchased a garmin virb elite. Had a quick test run and downloaded the video to virb edit 2.7.1.0.

The viedo as a whole (pre edit) plays fine. As soon as I start splitting the video, for example, to speed a part of the video up, the playback of this section (including the transition at the start and end of the split) is very jumpy.
The sped up part won't just increase the video playback of 'the split' it seems to jump from say, 20 seconds to 24 to 28 etc making anything other than the original x1 speed without any transitions pretty much un watchable.

Cheers

    Sorry about the trouble.

This sounds like we have trouble getting the performance we need out of your hard-ware.

What kind of computer are you using?

If it's a laptop, try having it plugged in to external power.

Also make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your graphics card.
  • Hi FALAGAR, thanks for the reply.

I'm running the verb edit software on my media pc.
AMD A6-3670 APU with Radeon HD graphics, 2.70GHz, 4GB RAM

I've since noticed once the file is exported, it plays the video fine, it's just in the actual virb edit software?

    Cheers

Yes, pretty much. When VIRB Edit plays it back, it does a lot more than playing video. It is basically rendering the video, plus transitions and overlays in real time. That is pretty taxing on the computer. Once it is exported, all that extra stuff is burnt into the video itself, so it's a lot easier to play back.

That being said, there are things we can do to make this work more smoothly and reliably. And we are working on it.
