Some experiences with exporting:
1. If I export at 1080, 25fps, the result is jerky (whether original 'raw' is at 1080 25fps or 720 50fps).
2. If I export at 720 (or 960) 50fps the result is smooth, but there is 'blockyness'. This is the case even for raw recorded at same resolution and rate as chosen for export.
3. If I do not export at all, but view the raw 720 at 50fps, there is neither jerkiness nor blocking (BUT unfortunately no gauges, of course).
So, it seems that VE, in processing & adding gauges, whether or not changing the resolution or rate, is compromising quality.
I have not (yet) tried having VE export without also adding gauges.
