Transition troubles VIRB Edit 2.6.2

Looking at the "Cross Fade" icon, I expected it to behave like the PowerDirector "PinWheel".
Instead it fades-out the first clip while it fades-in the next clip.

Maybe a re-design of the Cross Fade icon would help.
A "Pinwheel" like fade would be nice to have in VE.

When setting the transition between the first and the second clip to NONE, the transition between the second and the third clip goes wrong.
The second clip is shown with flashes of the third clip.
When the transition between the first and the second clip is set to something else but NONE, the clip between the second and the third clip works as it should.

As to the terminology of cross-fade, I do think we have this right: http://www.mediacollege.com/video/editing/transition/crossfade.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossfade (which redirects to Dissolve (filmmaking), a gradual transition from one image to another).

I'll have some look into the issue from your second post.

I was mislead by the icon, the term "fade" or "cross fade" says what it does.
