Adjusting GPS data overlay for multiple clips

Is there a better way to adjust the GPS file overlay's when you have multiple consecutive clips with no gaps. I typically record races and would like to overlay the data from my edge without having to import and adjust the GPS file for each clip individually. Ideally I would be able to import the video clips and the GPS file once, adjust it once and have it set for all clips.

Short of importing the video's and exporting them as 1 file then importing and adding the GPS data I don't see an easy way to do what I want.

Note: I am getting the final result, its just a pain to get a perfect sync once let alone 5 or 6 times depending on how many clips the race consists of.

Also, the new 2.6.2 seems very slow while reviewing the video pre-export, which adds a new layer of difficulty in syncing the GPS and video.

I assume you have a VIRB Basic then? Setting the time on the Basic to the exact time the Edge shows is not an option?

Yes, virb basic.

Are you talking on the devices themselves or in post processing? I have not looked through the menus on my virb deep enough to see where I may be able to set the time such that its synced with what would be on my edge.

I realize this should not be an issue with the elite, I would have bought that but when I was shopping it was not yet updated to sync with ANT+ powermeters.

OK, I found and updated the time, it may help get the default import a little closer but it appears my time control in the settings is rather coarse no ability to set to the second. I was able to manage through the menu on my edge where it displays to the second. we'll see after the next ride but I suspect I may need a 1-2s shift to get everything aligned as closely as I would like which means adjusting each clip independently.

This did not help significantly with getting a better sync between data and the video's.

just an idear...
If the clips are seamless, you could put them together to one long clip first (and export).
Than you have only one big clip to sync your GPS data.

I considered this, the only downside is the doubled time to export twice.

This certainly isn't a problem with just the VIRB Basic, since the tracks from the Elite are frequently unusable. There are ANT+ dropouts, and there's the barometric altimeter that can't be calibrated (and thus frequently shows ridiculous altitudes, usually at the beginning), and I frequently replace tracks because of those. But there are also cases where the VIRB has to be shut off (for example, swapping batteries), which with the current software destroys the continuity of the recording.

What's really needed is a way to tell VIRB Edit "this collection of clips that I'm putting together in a video are meant to be continuous. If I replace the GPS track for one, replace them for all (and get the alignment right, aligning two time series, even if the track is irregularly spaced, shouldn't be that difficult). Treat continuous counters (duration, total distance) as continuous over the entire video". If you could get multi clip track replacement and video/track alignment working properly, it would help a great deal. (Of course, I use the OS X version. Maybe alignment is already working in the Windows version.)

Hi,
I have encounterd the same issue 6 hour bike ride one gpx track, multiple video clips, the offset in time between my Dakota 20 and VIRB basic is fixed, it takes a lot of effort to sync all the video clips, instead I used
GPSBabel to correct for the offset in timing between the two devices in the single GPX file, works perferctly. Just sync one video clip to know the delta.
It would be nice if a time stamp could be placed in the GPX file when VIRB remote is used to start a recording as a means of auto syncing. Also for locating photographs this would be nice.
