I have uploaded 200+ garmin virb elite videos to YouTube (pjammcycling.com). I have been experiencing a high frequency of error messages when attempting to post to YouTube. My standard process is (a) import the video from my virb, (b) edit the video, (c) right click on the edited file and select upload (note - with the latest software modification it is referred to as "share"), (d) click "share" (upload). With a good upload, the program goes through 2 steps: (1) "preparing video", then (2) actually uploading the video. I am getting these error messages at the first step, i.e., "preparing video", so this is not a YouTube issue. I have Windows 7 on my high quality desktop and laptops (both Dell). My videos all include gps overlays. I called Garmin help line and they suggested I post here. Any help would be great. The VIRB is of course a great camera, but of little use if it's data cannot be uploaded. Thanks much. jj
Is the error on a MAC? (this is the MAC section) If the error is on a Win7 machine, it's likely that you are running into the 3.5GB barrier. 3.5GB = 1080p/30fps 20min For other lower resolution you can get more minutes, for higer fps you get less. Also if you have less movement, the compressionrate gets better, and more minutes into 3.5GB
