Virb Edit 2.6.2 not keeping correct distance between clips when editing

So I have a MTB race that is approx 1hr17mins long and has been recorded as 4 clips (3 clips of 23mins56secs and 1 clip of approx 6mins).

I have edited the first clip down into 8segments complete with transitions and the distance is displayed corrected on the overlay. As soon as Virb Edit moves onto the second clip, the distance on the overlay starts from zero again.

Anyone else experienced this - am I doing something incorrectly with my editing process?

Any advice or suggestions?

cheers

    @KIWIMTNBKR

As far as I can tell, this is a bug in the software. I too have the same problem, and also cannot find a way to solve it.

thanks Phil - just so long as it isn't me doing something wrong and others are experiencing it as well.

Will bring this thread to the attention of FALAGAR in case there is a simple fix :)

    cheers

How did you import the videos into VIRB Edit? For distance across clips to work, you will need the FIT file from the VIRB which only gets imported if you import directly from VIRB (and not copy the files manually to your computer).

Also, make sure you are running 2.6, not 2.5.

You can check if the clips have FIT data by right-clicking a clip in the clips library, choosing 'Properties' and then 'GPS info'. It should mention the FIT file (gray track) there.

    hi Falagar,

Thanks for your response - and please disregard as it's started working now, not that I have suddenly done anything different from what I had previously done *confused*

And for what it's worth - yes all the clips were imported directly from my Virb.

Yes - most definitely running the latest version of Virb Edit 2.6.2

And yes - all the clips have their .fit file info showing along with the track which is black in my case.

    cheers

I'm glad it's working. Of course I'd like to know why it didn't before.
