Same problem here since updating to 2.6.2.
My Laptop is he HP Envy with i7 core and 16 gig ram and NVIDIA GFORCE. Video files plaid fine before the update so I know it is not my laptop.

    UPDATE:
Changed resolution to "RECOMMENDED" Setting and that resolved the choppy play back.
  • I'm a new user and using the software was really smooth and easy.
I would love to see an option to export the video splitted in multiple parts. That would really help Win7 users with the 4gig limit problems. I tried to split a recording by creating two separate videos but then the track information is also split in two segments.
Is there a forum or app to post firmware issues?
    Thanks!

Automatic splitting would be great for the Win7 users as lifting the 3.5GB limit is on the long term list.

You can overcome the splitting of the track.
Add the last 1 second of the last part to all but the last part (add at the end of the part).
Add the 1st second of the 1st part to all but the 1st part (add in front of the part).

You may have to combine your tracks to one long track.

If you know more about windows and not afraid to do some text editing you could do what I did.
I have make the long video.
Than I made a split after 1 sec and every 20 minutes and a split 1 sec before the end.
    I closed VE.
Than I copied the "RawMovie" to a new location.
Than I removed the parts that I didn't needed for the part I was working on, leaving the 1st and the last second always in place.
After export, I closed VE and replaced the RawMovie by the original one.
Than I edited and exported the next part.
Close VE, Restored the RawMovie, started VE, edited and exported the next part.
Repeat until all parts are done.
Than stitch them together in another program.

Firmware issues .... if there is no place to complain about them, there are no issues.... At least the firmware guys seem to think that.
So no, just find a post by FALAGAR, in his signature there is a link to support.
  • Thanks for the reply PA3FBO!
I saw your tutorials post and I think this would do the trick.
I'm currently using mostly windows 8 but I would rather divide long rides in shorter videos. Especially for uploading to Youtube and/or social networks.

    Wishes

The program has become much better. But to complete the work had to install W8.1.

    1. There is a need to make an option to continue (or reset) the data (distance, time) after each segment of the film. Without interruption to impose information failed.
    2. Make it possible to set the maximum speed и averaging. To eliminate errors of GPS. Make able averaging the current speed, gradient, and other parameters in the range 0 ... 2 s.
    3. There are problems with 4:3 screens. Maximize button work is not correct (In all version VirbEdit).

    Example:

Could someone tell me which is the last version of Virb Edit that will run on OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)? I've found version 2.2.1 online but would like a newer version if possible. I can't update my OS version on my Macbook as it's not compatible with the newer releases (an old black 3.1 model from late 2007).
Edit: It would pay to read the above posts first. :)
