VIRB Elite for Asset Management

We're exploring uses for the VIRB Elite for mapping 110 miles of pavement, drainage, signs, utilities, etc. here in our city. As we accumulate tons of video, we're finding it difficult to manage them all. Rather than creating export videos, it's important that we have the functionality of VIRB EDIT - moving the red dot to the appropriate map location rather than having to watch the video for the desired location. Has anyone figured out how to manage a lot of raw videos? Also, I don't understand why when we rename an imported video, the videos on my hard drive still contain the names like Virb0015, etc.

Any help in understanding the file structure and how to manage them would be great.

What is missing in VIRB Edit that prevents you from managing them in there? You have the clips broken down by year, month and day in the clips library.

I'll see what we can do about renaming the file when renaming the clip, we've thought about this before, seems like a good idea.

    Thank you for your feedback!

We are looking into ways for the user to influence where imported clips are stored and how they are named. That might take a little while to make it into a release though.

What you can do is export the GPS log for each clip. Right-click on a clip and choose 'Save GPS log'.

I am confused about your point b). If you create a project with X clips in them to assemble a number of them into a specific video, then you shouldn't lose that on restart.

As to c), we are looking into renaming the actual file.

Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for not being able to offer you a great solution at this point. We will definitely improve the experience though, and your input is very valuable to us.
