Hi there,
I used my Virb Elite for its first test-run today on a 35 mile/2 hour cycle. It was recording at 1080p, 30 fps. It seems to have split the ride up into about 8 clips, presumably because of file limitations of the SD card.
When I try to create a video of the ride, and put all of the clips on the same timeline, the onscreen data gauges show the distance and elapsed time for that particular clip, rather than for the overall ride. Essentially, this means that the time and distance appear to keep 'resetting' during the overall ride video.
Is there a way to fix this? It's a bit frustrating, as I'd like to be able to make a video of the overall ride, with markers to give a sense of both speed and time elapsed at different points on the ride. This doesn't seem possible at the moment unless I'm missing something? I would have though there should be some kind of facility to join the clips together for the purposes of these kinds of metrics?
Also, Virb Edit warns me about only being able to make 4gb files, therefore meaning that a 2 hr ride might not be possible to export as one file (I've tried it at 1080p and 720p). It looks like the whole system is not really setup to deal with longer continuous activities - in terms of the metrics and in terms of exporting files.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks
Paul
