Was enjoying Virb Edit until this latest and not so greatest update came out. Sorry, I'm usually not one to complain, but this truly makes me upset. After all the work you did to fix the exporting issues, I happily used Virb Edit for the past 5 months with no exporting issues. I downloaded this update today, and now I can't export videos again. Fantastic. Seriously, why screw with something that was working?

    Can't export a 21min 1080p video using 2.5.0. Updating to 2.5.1 wouldn't work, I had to un-install 2.5.0, reboot, than re-install 2.5.1.
Still can't export the 21min video

    suggestions?

EDIT: just tried to export without overlay, afterclicking on Export, the rotating (hourglass replacement) stops rotating and nothing happens after that. Only the Windows message comes up, and only close the program is a usefull option.

    EDIT: added map of route.

Also during editing after almost every trim or split I needed to restart the program because of the "error playing this video". After restarting I could do a new edit.

I got the same, I can't upload or render as soon as I add an overlay map from the whole route. If I remove this map ( only left over GPS parts) then it renders ok + upload goes well.....
Hope Garmin will create an update soon
  • Has anyone tried Dashware? Looks to do the same as virb edit but hopefully without all the bugs.

I'd be willing to pay money for a piece of software that actually did what was advertised. I have given up on virb edit.

I have not tried Dashware but some people did show some examples.
I now captured the preview in 1664x940 (.MOV) and converted it to 1920x1080 (.MP4).
Than trimmed the beginning to do away with the progressbar and the end where the beginning was shown again.
This will cause some loss in quality.

There was a suggestion to try to export without track. That only made VIRB Edit disappear without warning.

    I'm giving up on this...
    Tried to make another movie.
Now when I try to split the first clip the program crashes over and over again.
I am not able to make a movie of 3:50h of clips.

Please give 2.6 a try once it's ready, we believed we've significantly reduced crashes caused by running out of memory, as well as performance and reliability of playback and export.

I apologize that I do not have a better response, but we are working very hard to fix these issues.

My system is set to have a 24h clock, still the preview gives a 12h clock with AM/PM.
Also the system dateformat is dd/mm/yyyy in preview this is mm/dd/yyyy.
Can you correct this for the preview, previous exports did export in the correct formats, now I can't export so can't check.
