This version, like the one before it, doesn't work at all for me ... "Error playing video" just as before. I've given my hardware and software configuration before. Every other video app works fine, and playing Virb video files using other tools works just fine too.

    Sam,

You don't happen to be running BitDefender as your anti-virus software do you? There is a known issue between VirbEdit and BitDefender.

Link to post is here. There is also this post to do with Bit-Defender but I tried what was suggested and still has crash issues so removed Bit-Defender again and the crash issue disappeared.

    cheers
    Mike
  • The Windows version of VE sure is far behind the Mac version. I just tried to help my wife on her Win 7 machine with a short Time Lapse video and VE will make a video out of it, and it plays, but slowing the video down never shows the slow version in Preview, and adding titles is a disaster: add one with, say a 5 second duration, means it becomes 5 seconds slowed to the same rate as the video. So it's 5 seconds at 12.5% speed, meaning it's on screen for a very long time.

The Mac version's a dream to work with, in comparison.
  • Well its been a few weeks since I last posted about this, but in my case VE crashes everytime I try and Export. Doesn't matter whether I work on a new file or on a file I had prior to updating to 2.5.0 it just crashes. Anyone else seen this behaviour or is it just me? I can't seem to track down the issue to anything specific on my PC.

    Thanks,

    Dex.

I have the same issue.....most of the time. It seems that if I am using the computer the entire time, it has a better chance of success but if I walk away to let it do it's thing, it will have an error and not complete. I have ruled out a power saving profile since my computer is active 24/7. But the monitor does get powered down when not in use.
  • There's an update to Virb Edit for Windows which adds new templates and gauges:

    Get 2.5.1 here.

Hopefully there will be unannounced fixes too.

Just seem to have lost the 24h time gauges, I now only can find the AM/PM type.
Where have they gone? Have they gone?
Can't find a setting to change it.

The time format is determined by your computer. You should see AM/PM in the US for example, and 24h in the Netherlands. Did you change anything in your system's time settings?

I didn't change the time only the timezone.
My system is still set at 24hour clock.

Language is still "Dutch" but my timezone changed form CET to EET.
In the preview I have the AM/PM sign.
In the exported video I have the 24h clock, so maybe it's just the preview only showing the AM/PM after all.
Maybe I didn't notice before that the clock in preview always has been AM/PM.

So back home again after my holiday.
My (main) PC was updated to 2.5.1.0 before I left on the 24th of june.
Now I'm trying to make movies of the clips I took.
A template was added to my movie automaticly, I thought I'm missing the position gauges.
I tried to add them and searched in "position", no gauges found there. So I clicked "coordinates" but nothing showed.
I tried the same on my laptop with 2.5.0.0 and the coordinate gauges show up OK.
On my PC I had a custom template with coordinates, that's still OK.
I've imported new clips direct from my VIRB Elite and tried to make a movie out of it.
Also with this new movie no coordinate gauges could be found.
I've told my laptop to update to 2.5.1.0.
After the update the coordinate gauges cannot be found anymore.
    I uninstalled 2.5.1.0 on my laptop and re-installed 2.5.0.0.
Now the coordinate gauges can be found again.
I did the same on my (main) PC, going back to 2.5.0.0 and I can select the coordinate gauges again.
    Please correct the problem asap.
