.mp4 from GoPro will not import

When I try to import a movie encoded to H.264 29.97 FPS VBR (up to 32 Mbps) 1920x1080, VIRB Edit just says "Library updating 0/1" but never successfully imports the clip.

Clip is from a GoPro, encoded w/ Adobe Media Encoder.

How can I get my GoPro videos into Virb Edit? Should I encode to a different format or something?

Sorry if this has been answered; I did a bit of searching but didn't find the answer I needed. Asking may be quicker.

be sure to select x264 and aac, although the video shows 25fps, for now use 30fps.
At this moment VIRB Edit will use 25fps video as if it is 30fps, meaning a shortige of 5 frames every second... and that adds up on the end of your video.
