Video and GPS map do not sync

I import the video and play it in Edit before any edits are made and the GPS info lags behind. I try to manually sync it and again, it lags from where the video is going. Is this a fix for 2.5?

What video mode were you recording in? And yes, we definitely want to fix that in 2.5.

Unfortunately there is a bug in 2.4 with fast HD. We will definitely get that fixed in 2.5.

    I apologize for the trouble.

I'm having difficulty with this also, except I'm using 1080p mode.

I started my Edge 800 and Virb basic at the same time and did a ride. Imported clips and gps to virb edit, and found them out of sync. Used the adjust gps function in virb and aligned the video and gps data, but they're still out.

I also find that doing a one hour recording results in 2 - 3 separate video files being saved on the virb. Is it supposed to do this? I checked 'loop recording' which is switched off. Having multiple files to sync seems to add to the difficulty.

Any tips or advice as to how I might overcome this would be appreciated, especially as I really want to use the video with speed & other data displayed feature.

Yes, the separate files are supposed to work like this. The camera cannot write files larger than 4 GB.

Using the Edge 800 and a VIRB Basic should work if you record in 1080p. It's hard for me to tell what might be wrong without having access to the files. If you can somehow make these available to me (maybe via sharing them on Dropbox) I'd be more than willing to take a look.

But we are definitely looking into alignment for 2.5, there seem to be a few things off.

Thanks for the info. In case it's of interest, so far I've found that the camera files have been up to around 2.5Gb each. I've also deleted them now, but could make some available in future. Otherwise, I'll look forward to a fix in the next version.

I don't have much visibility into what the camera code does, I know that the 4 GB limit is why we break them up, but I am not sure why it already breaks at 2.5 GB.
