View Video While Recording

I would like to be able to view the video I am recording while doing so with my VIRB Elite. I would like to be able to do this on my laptop, either wireless or by connecting a cable is necessary. But I don't see a way to do this. Can anyone help if possible? Chuck

The current VIRB does not support preview while recording.

You can preview while it is not recording, using the wireless API. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?78617-VIRB-Elite-Wireless-API. That would be more of an enthusiast's hobby project though, it's not ready for general public use.

At this moment it's not possible to do this from a windows PC/laptop.
There are some people (NOT Garmin) working on the few details Garmin made public.

As Garmin has no intention yet to make that possible, maybe you could ask the NON-Garmin developers.
However it would be nice to have such an option integrated in VIRB Edit.
At this point the guys are quite busy getting VIRB Edit running without errors/bugs on all sorts of systems.

I could have also mentioned that VIRB has an HDMI output. I am not sure though if that works for preview or just for playback. Someone here will hopefully have an answer to that.
