I recently shot two clips of a 57 mile route from my car. I combined them into a single video and added the distance gauge overlay. The issue is once clip 1 comes to end (at mile 18) and it transitions to clip 2 the distance starts over at mile zero. How can I fix this so that it starts at mile zero at the start of clip 1 and ends at mile 57 at the end of clip 2 (end of the full video)?
You will need a track that spans both clips to be able to see total distance.
What kind of GPS data do you have? Do you have a track that encompasses the time for both videos? If you have a VIRB Elite there should be a FIT file that should work for that.
Note that you need 2.4.0 for this to work. (The FIT file is only imported with 2.4.0, you didn't get this if you imported it with an earlier version.)
Hi, I have the same Issue here. In my case it is even more weird: I started a Video at home and captured about 1.5 hours of Video incl. GPS without interrupt. In the End, my Virb Edit found 5 Files (?) on my Virb Elite. When combining them, Distance started at 0 for each file even with Virb Edit 2.9. I even tried deleting the whole track and readding the .fit file which shows the complete track. Unfortunatelly, it does not solve the problem.
Any hints?? It is more or less useless if the track distance always resets while watching the Video. :-(

I've would like a solution for this too. It happens for me even when using data for whole track from Garmin edge 1000. I agree it defeats the object of displaying distance overlay if each clip shows the distance as zero!
