Is there an SDK, or published API for the Virb?

I need to write some specialised software that will allow watching a live stream video, taking a photo, then transferring that photo to an application for further processing. We are looking into various different cameras and before purchasing a VIRB I'm going to need to know if this would be possible.

There is not, to my knowledge. The API is pretty straight-forward though and all the things you mention are possible. Basically everything the mobile Android and iOS apps can do, anyone should be able to do. I'd have to find out if I am allowed to share specifics.

Thanks. I'd be happy to sign an NDA if required. Also the application we would be writing would not be generally available it would be used within one organisation only.
