Usage of computer RAM memory when exporting a video

Hi all,

When I export my video's using virb edit I noticed that the computer is only using 18 % of the RAM 2,8 Gb of 15,9 Gb.
Is this normal? Has this to do with virb edit or is something wrong with my computer?

I am using win8 64 bit

Video editing is a processor intensive activity, not ram intensive--your readings are correct.
