Music tracks

Just tried to add a music track to a movie. The thing is that I want the first few scenes without music and only the recorded sound. I tried to mark a scene later in the film, and add a music track there. But it always put itself at start of the movie, with the first clip. Is there any way to tell Virb Edit where in the movie I want the music to be?

    Thomas,

music support is very basic right now, you've discovered one of the limitations.

We are planning on improvements for music support.

for now you could add "silence" before the music to compensate

Thanks for the improvement plans falagar.

Yes I could add silence. But as you can't even trim the sound I'd have to create silence with the correct length down to the second. And another sound with correct length for the next "paus" between music tracks. Not difficult to do, but for this quick one it was easier to export the edited movie and add sound with premiere instead.

VIRB Edit is a somewhat lightweight program that needs to grow.
As you have a more grown-up program using VIRB Edit just for adding overlays is the best option.
I'm still using PowerDirectorPro 11.0 for my editing.

Ahhhh. So are you saying save it as a movie with the GPS data on it, and then open that into something else to edit it in a morse sophisticated way.

Yes, in that way you can add titles and transitions between clips.
The main goal for this moment is to get it working without bugs for the VIRB cameras on all sorts of computer configurations (PC/Mac).
Whether VIRB Edit will get all the (more advanced) features of programs like Powerdirector and Pinacle is very doubtfull.
If it gets all those features, it probably would no longer be for free.
One option is to restrict use to people that have a registered Garmin device.
Just wait and see how far they get (and are allowed to).
