VIRB Edit Windows Error when playing / working with videos

Error when playing / working with videos

Hello -
I has waited to post this hoping 2.3.2 would clear this up. When viewing videos, after the fourth or fifth video, I get the error "There was an error playing the video". Closing VIRB Edit and reopening doesn't clear the issue. To clear the issue I have to reboot the computer. Any ideas or thought? If I create a video in VIRB Edit, I can add the video (not seeing what is playing) and it exports to a usable video. When in the video creating windows I can move the time bar around and see the speed, elevation and map change.

System Specs:
HP Envy
Windows 7 SP1
8 gb's RAM
Radeon HD 6850M video card

Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers yet?

I'm working on that. HP hasn't updated the drivers in 2 years so having to try some other routes. Hopefully all the work will be worth it.

HP has made it pretty much impossible for me to update my graphic card drivers. Any other ideas?

I would try to grab the drivers from AMD directly. The producer of the graphics card (AMD in this case for a Radeon model) is usually the best source for driver updates.

Going to http://support.amd.com/en-us/download should get you started.

Falagar, thanks for the link. Unfortunately AMD says to contact HP and HP says their drivers are update. While no fault of Garmin, I think this may be the tripping point for me to return my VIRB. All the features that made it better than a GoPro aren't available to me. Thanks for your help, I may try a few more things but I'm not hopeful.

Sorry to hear that. I do feel it's our fault because the player doesn't work for you. I am positive we will get this ironed out eventually, but I perfectly understand if you do not want to wait that long.

I have the same problem
Trying to run clip that fails and displays the message: "There was an error playing the video."
I have a HP EliteBook 8460p with a Radeon 6470 card with the latest graphics card drivers (September 2013)

Such action program makes virB Edit is useless and camera functionality virB very limited
