I noticed something that could be improved.
I have already imported video's from my VIRB Elite.
I did choose not to delete them from my µSD (I only remove something from an SD when it's full or I need more space than is free).
After working in VIRB Edit, I removed the clips from the library (I did not delete the library).
Now I've made some more clips and connected the VIRB to my PC.
VIRB Edit starts to import all new clips.
Beside the really new clips it also imports the previous imported and delete clips.
Maybe you can create a pointer (in the library or written onto the µSD) that contains what clips already have been imported.

    Feature request:
When you start VIRB Edit for the first time (or the first time after you've deleted the database) you get the option for viewing an introductionmovie.
I can't find a button to view the movie after I've imported clips.
As no help is available (yet) I think it can be usefull to some user to re-view this movie to see how things are done.

BTW on my laptop I have a clip imported into VIRB Edit in 1904  didn't know my laptop was that old
The clip was converted to .MP4 on the 16th of october with AVC. The original was a .MOV made on 16 october so something went wrong.
I'll probably will delete the database in the near future anyway. That should solve the problem.

I am also having the issue of the exported video not having the data sync'ed properly.

When watching the video with VIRBedit, the G sensor works correctly (apart from a little delay). However, when the video is exported, the G sensor does not reflect the data at all.

Any help appreciated. I am using the latest software versions on both camera and VIRBedit.

    Cheers!

We are working on version 2.4, one of the bug-fixes is to stream-line the overlays during playback and export, so they use the exact same data.

I am afraid you'll still have to wait a little longer for the fix, I apologize for the trouble.

We have a case to make the intro video available from elsewhere. This isn't currently scheduled for a specific version yet, so it might take a little while till we get around to it.

The 1904 date bug appears if you import a video that doesn't have the correct meta data tag for the date. We should probably fall back to the file's creation date if we can't read the meta-data tag, I'll create a case for that. Videos that were recorded with VIRB (the target audience for VIRB Edit) should always have the correct tag.

can you make the introduction video available here (youtube), or give the location where it can be found?

Version 2.4! would this have anything to do with the entire video rendering stack?
Atm, I use Virb Edit to import and playback on the spot, but Dashware for the export render as they support Virb g-force data now.
Will be looking forward to the next Virb Edit version whenever it comes out.

VIRB Edit currently emits no location-based metadata at all.

However, if this is something you're interested in then this is certainly something we can investigate. Send me a personal message if you'd like to follow up.

    something strange I've discovered.
I started BaseCamp with the VIRB Elite still connected to the PC.
BC was reading a lot of information from the VIRB.
    I looked what it was.
It seemed all to be tracks, some cyan, some grey.
I also noticed a difference in time notation.
I have files like this "16-3-2014 12:47:38" and files like this "2014-03-16 13:47:13".
I think the ones starting with the day are the .FIT files, the ones starting with the year the .GPX.
As BC sorts the files by name the old XP way, it starts with files from the 1st than days from the 10th untill the 20th.
Than follow the files starting with 2014, followed by days 21th and further, followed by days 3rd - 9th.
So you really have to search in different places to get the files from one day.
    Can this be sorted?
I suppose this is not only an issue with the VIRB but also with other equipment.

This is certainly something I am interested in. I wish to use the Garmin Virb Elite (I own a couple) to capture video and GPS tracks to be imported into ArcMap using ESRI's Full Motion Video extension. It requires, as the previous member quoted, video containing ESD, MISB 0104.5, or MISB 0601 metadata standard. At this early stage, I can't see any way to import the video's accompanying GPX track file, or any type of track file.
I will research alternatives, and post here if I discover anything useful (for example, there may be a utility that stamps the video with GPX tracks).
