  • Prompted by KIWIMTNBKR's comments regarding BitDefender, the AV which I also use, I uninstalled it, and its cured all of my issues. I've managed to successfully export several videos this morning with Overlays included, and no crashing. I've installed McAfee instead now, and it continues to work 100% for me in terms of Exporting and not crashing any more. Seems like after all the hassle I've been having that was the cause of my issues. Not sure what BD is doing in the background to cause it to crash but that appears to have been the cause in my case.

Lets hope I continue to have success with it now :-)

Thanks to Garmin for all the help in the background, in particular Mike, who has been very patient with me in working thought potential fixes :-)

My congrats to the development team, I can now export videos with several clips , music and gauges all together, very good improvement !!
    One remark I have:
I have splitted one trip in several clips with different playback speeds and once exported I see the track is also splitted in individual routes: I would love to see the whole track together;it is interesting the track gauge displays the whole route when previewing the video within Virb Edit.

Well it looks like I'm still having the Export issues. For the first time I have been able to do some video and get it all together and after upgrading to 2.3.2 I STILL can't export or upload to Youtube.

Is there a way to completely wipe out VIRBEdit and have a FRESH install?

I don't know what is wrong. What details would I need to give so I can get some help with this.

    thanks

Also doesn't export on my laptop either

This update didn't work for me, just as the 2.3.1 Version. It won't play or make Movies.
At the time I'm running the 2.2.5 Version. It's not Perfect but it Works.
All files can be played by the VLC player.

My computer has 8 GB RAM, AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU and GPU: GeForce GTX 560.

I have two Virb Elites and it's the same With files from both of them.
(They don't like Sandisk Extreme 32GB. Samsung MicroSD Works fine)

That's great news! Thank you so much for testing all these builds.

We will run some tests with BitDefender and see if there is anything we can do to make it happy. If we can't we will let users know that VIRB Edit is incompatible with that piece of software.

Please let me know if you are still running into any issues.

That's definitely on our to-do list, thanks for the feedback!

And I am very glad export is working for you.

I am very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with export.

If you want to get rid of all of VIRB Edit's data (the data about clips you've recorded and videos you've created) you want to delete the following directory: C:\Users\{YOUR USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit. That will not delete the videos you've copied to your hard-drive, just the meta-data (AND GPS TRACKS) you have copied. So make sure you have the gpx or fit files backed up elsewhere if you do this.

    Then a few more questions:

    1. Are you trying to export non-VIRB videos by any chance? Currently, VIRB Edit is not always happy with videos that are not from a VIRB.
    2. Do you happen to run BitDefender (a specific Anti-Virus program that seems to mess with VIRB Edits export)?

If you are using VIRB videos and not using BitDefender and you still can't export: please send an email to win dot virbedit at garmin dot com (excuse the strange format, I am trying to fool spammers here), mention your forum username and attach the latest error log files, which can be found at C:\Users\{YOUR USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Temp\VirbEdit\2.3.2.

    I apologize for the trouble.

So with 2.3.2 you cannot even play the clips in VIRB Edit? And 2.2.5 does play the clips?

Double-check you have the latest graphics card drivers. We are looking into playback issues currently.

    Correct.

I forgot to mention that I am running W7 ultimate.
The Graphics driver is the last released one.

1: Using non-Virb videos (GoPro HD Hero 2) Did work before though, Can't afford to upgrade :(
2: Not running BitDefender but running AVG Free 2014 though
