Export Quality

Hi,
I recorded a 3:32 m:ss movie with 1280x720 Pixel. 29 fps. Data rate around 9k kBit/s. File size 230 MB. Very good quality at low light.

After export with simple overlay, the file is shrunk down to 23 MB. Data rate around 800 kBit/s.
But the degradation of the quality is extremely annoying. Changing the export resolution doesn't change anything. There are lots of artefacts.

For me, downsizing of the file is not necessary. I am more interested in conserving the HD quality.
Since there are no export settings, i.e. for flexible or fixed data rate, I assume that the hard coded settings are responsible for the output quality.

Are there any options to change this? Is this OS, installed video codec or graphics card related or just a bug/matter of the VE software?

Thanks for your reply!

Regards
Sascha

We are working on getting VIRB Edit 2.3.2 out the door which should improve the quality of the exported video.

Hopefully we will have the installer on the web next week. Please let me know if there are still video quality issues. But I am pretty confident that 2.3.2 will address this.
